Rohtang opens roughly May to November, weather permitting, and is usually shut one weekday for maintenance. See today’s status on our road page.

Apply online
Permits are issued online on the official Himachal Pradesh government permit portal, per vehicle, with a daily cap on petrol and diesel vehicles.

Keep documents ready
Vehicle registration, PUC certificate, driver’s licence and a phone number for the OTP.

Go early
Leave Manali by 6 AM. Traffic at Gulaba check-post builds quickly, and the pass is busiest by noon.
